Abstract Aim Ultrasound scan is a crucial clinical tool in the management of acute appendicitis children. That because it can aid diagnosis without exposing patient to potentially harmful ionising radiation from computed tomography scans. In this project, we were assessing whether children presented with right iliac fossa pain receive their scans on time. addition, exploring definitive and hospital length stay affected by delay. Method This was retrospective project which assessed case notes paediatric patients who had an ultrasound between September 2019 2020 one district general hospitals UK. The included below 16, admitted pain, inpatient scan. Results A total 33 met inclusion criteria. waiting time ranged 1 hour 89 hours mean around 19.5 median 14.5 hours. day 21 days 2.5 day. Conclusions An should be conducted within same admission for all pain.
